DIY Full Face Sugaring with Strips

Grace is going to be sugaring her entire face and eyebrow shaping using the strip method. The full face sugaring with strips method can be used to remove unwanted hair on the face and neck. Sugaring over the face and neck is also a very nice exfoliating treatment for anti-aging.

  1. I so love your conversational tone as you so selflessly share your time and expertise with the public about how to do sugar waxing at home. I’ve received my jar of firm wax from you, and since you used strips, I’m thinking it would be easier for me to start practicing with strips as it seems easier than pasting. However, do I need to thin the sugar out with water as mine is firm? Also, is there a special powder to use for sensitive areas or would regular baby powder suffice? Thank you so much for replying.

  2. Thank you very much for your support. When using the strip method, if you are using it on coarse hair, I would not add any water to the Firm sugar.I was actually using Firm sugar in my most recent face and leg strip demonstration videos on youtube. If you are using it on Fine hairs, you could add water but it would only be a small amount like 1 tablespoon for the whole jar. Just heat it up until you get that honey consistency. If the jar is full, that might be about 75 seconds in the microwave. Baby powder works. You could also use Corn Starch.

  3. You are awesome! Thanks for replying. Now I can try to save some money by doing this myself, though I’ll leave the Brazilian for the professionals. You make it seem so easy. I’m so happy I came across your website and videos. God Bless.

  5. Hi Grace, I was wondering where I can purchase a warmer specifically for your sugar. During the summer I had no need to warm the sugar, but now I’m finding that I have to heat it in the microwave as it is getting cooler. While that is ok, I would prefer more consistency.

  6. At this time we do not have a warmer that we provide but are in the works of getting them within the next few months. If you need one before then, then I suggest getting any wax pot warmer that has a sugar setting or a standard wax pot warmer and use it on the lowest setting. It can take up to 30 minutes to fully warm up.

  7. Hi there! I am a first timer with sugaring or waxing myself and I would like to focus on my upper lip and underarms. My upper lip has fine hair but my underarms have a bit of coarse hair and so I’m not real sure which soft or medium or firmness I should order. My second question is, do you believe removing underarm hair will help with odor?

  8. Since the hair is different coarseness, you could get the Medium-Soft for your upper lip hair and a Firm for the underarm hair. If you only want to order one for now, to get started, I would do the Firm one because it’s the easiest to learn with and it will work super well on the underarms. To get it to work on the fine hairs, you could heat it more so you could spread it thinner on the upper lip, and then use a strip or cloth to remove it. You could use the paste method (roll on, roll off) with the Firm sugar on the upper lip, but you will notice that you will need to go over multiple times to get all of the hair. It is possible though, it just takes patience…and you may want to reapply powder a couple times so your lip skin doesn’t get too irritated.
